AI driven SaaS product

AI driven SaaS product

Overview

VoxTrend is a SaaS platform that helps e-commerce sellers boost their growth by turning customer reviews into clear, actionable insights using AI.

The product analyzes large volumes of customer feedback to identify patterns, pain points, and opportunities, allowing merchants to better understand their products and make informed decisions based on real user voice.

I joined the project in 2024 at a very early stage, working directly with the founder to transform an initial idea into a complete AI driven SaaS product. My role covered product design, UX, UI, branding, and the design system.

Context

When the project started, VoxTrend was only an idea.

There was no product, no branding, no clear scope, and no structured brief. The ambition was strong, but everything had to be defined from scratch, including how AI would be used, what insights were truly valuable for merchants, and how complex data could be presented in a clear and usable way.

The collaboration was direct with the CEO, which allowed for fast iteration but required strong structure to avoid spreading in too many directions.

The problem

The main challenge was creating clarity from complexity.

On one side, there was a large amount of unstructured data coming from customer reviews. On the other, e-commerce sellers needed simple, readable, and actionable insights, not raw AI output.

Before any interface could exist, the product needed a clear vision, a defined MVP, and well designed user journeys that made AI insights understandable and useful for non technical users.

Constraints

The project evolved over roughly one year, with priorities shifting as the product matured.

The team was composed of around six people, and decisions had to balance ambition, AI capabilities, technical feasibility, and time. Since everything was built from scratch, structure and prioritization were critical to avoid overengineering or building features without real value.

My role

I was responsible for the end to end product design, including product thinking, UX flows, UI design, branding, and the design system.

I led product and design decisions while also executing the work hands on, working closely with the CEO to shape both the vision and the day to day evolution of the product.

Process

The first step was to structure the product before designing it.

I worked on clarifying the value proposition, defining the MVP, and identifying which AI insights would be most useful for e-commerce sellers. From there, I designed user journeys that transformed raw customer reviews into clear dashboards, summaries, and actionable insights.

Once the flows were validated, I moved into wireframes, UI design, and the creation of a design system to support long term scalability. The product evolved iteratively through constant feedback, testing, and refinement.

Key decisions

One of the most important decisions was to focus on clarity over technical complexity.

Rather than exposing AI outputs directly, I chose to design interfaces that translated them into structured insights, summaries, and priorities that merchants could immediately act on.

Another key decision was to invest time in structuring the product and MVP before production. This slowed down the early phases but avoided confusion and costly rework later.

We delivered a complete AI driven SaaS product from scratch.

This included the brand identity, UX flows centered around customer review analysis, UI design of the platform, and a scalable design system. The solution was built to make AI understandable, trustworthy, and actionable for non technical users.

Outcome and impact

The platform was tested and iterated with real users.

Feedback helped challenge assumptions, refine user journeys, and sometimes completely rethink features to better align with merchant needs and technical reality. The product evolved from a broad idea into a focused tool built around customer feedback and growth.

Learnings and next steps

This project taught me how to design products around AI without making them feel opaque or overwhelming.

I learned the importance of translating complex systems into simple experiences, and how critical early structuring is when working on AI driven products. With more time, I would push further on user testing and insight validation.

Why this project matters

VoxTrend represents a full end to end product design journey, from idea to AI powered SaaS.

It reflects my ability to structure complex, data heavy products, work closely with founders, and design interfaces that make advanced technology useful and understandable. It also shows how I approach product design beyond visuals, with clarity, pragmatism, and long term thinking.
